In Knit One Pearl One, Davies uses her own relationship to the landscape as her starting point.

Becoming actively involved with the forest space, weaving a presence into its many leaves and textures, she builds a personal experience for herself and creates an authentic interaction with the space.

The woollen thread marks a slow, deliberate, delicate trajectory: branches and twigs are woven together and linked to form a continuous, sinuous line of movement. The trace of a lone figure passing through the space, like an ephemeral self-portrait.

Weaving, sewing, threading, and connecting the woollen thread ties the artist tangibly and metaphorically to the forest.
